Portsmouth City Council, 'the Authority', is inviting tenders from suitably qualified dredging contractors to deliver maintenance dredging to Portsmouth Commercial Port - Berth 2.
The Portsmouth International Port (PIP) is located within Portsmouth Harbour, to the North East of the Portsmouth Naval Base.
PIP is a busy commercial port, with multiple ferry and cargo vessels movements every day and it operates a range of Ferry, Cruise and Cargo berths.
PIP requires periodic maintenance dredge to its berths and approaches to remove localised build-ups of harbour silt. The Contractor shall be expected to:
- oCapital dredging of Berth 2 equating to approximately 2,500 to 3,500 m3 of dredge material to various depths up to 8.7m below Chart Datum
- oDisposal of the dredged material to the Nab Tower disposal site
- oRemoval of two existing scour mattresses. East and West
- oReplacement of the East Mattress on the Main Quay Wall side
- oAct in accordance with Marine Management Organisation licence conditions
The envisaged window for works mobilisation is anytime from contract award on Tuesday 27th November 2018 with completion by Friday 26th April 2019. However, the Authority will review alternative programs from Tenderers that will complete the works within the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) licence deadline of 31st August 2019.
The estimated value of the contract for the Dredging Works, including the installation of new Mattresses is approximately ?500,000. The form of contract used will be NEC4 Engineering and Construction short form.
Set out below is the procurement timetable. Should the return deadline date change, all tenderers will be informed of this change via Intend.
