National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is looking for a technical development partner to further develop their new generation of Marine Autonomous System (MAS) Platforms with a particular focus on new technology encompassing precise navigation, endurance and performance in extreme environments i.e. under ice and/or in excess of 5000m.

National Marine Facilities (NMF) is focused on transferring robust, reliable MAS platforms into the National Marine Equipment Pool (NMEP) in support of UKRI NERC science.

A preferred development partner would:

• a)Bring particular expertise in underwater navigation and/or communications technology to the partnership.
• b)Have a demonstrable track-record of partnering with research organisations to deliver development projects involving multiple MAS platforms.
• c)Be prepared to commit resources to specific projects including at-sea trials.
• d)Share analysis of trials performance and thence contribute to further system optimization
• e)Demonstrate how they would contribute towards the successful application for funding in particular Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) funding.
