Specialist contractor to undertake the design, construction and commissioning of a new high-density sludge treatment plant and decommissioning of the existing treatment plant.

  • The project objectives;
  • Replace the existing Treatment Plant with a High Density Sludge (HDS) plant;
  • Improve the scheme from an operational, environmental and health and safety perspective;
  • Improve the longevity and resilience of the scheme;
  • Provide efficiencies with improved chemical dosing and other controls;
  • Reduce operational costs;
  • Assess, record and reduce the carbon emissions associated with the life of the scheme;
  • Identify cost efficiencies;
  • Reduce risk of pollution of the River Neath and the Neath Canal;
  • Comply with the existing discharge consents;
  • Minimise the downtime of the existing scheme during construction;
  • Develop plans for the assessment, measurement, and continual improvement of waste management, sustainability and carbon impact for the construction, operation and decommissioning of the scheme.
