description

The Commission has done some preliminary research into the diversity of national and local elected politicians in Britain and the barriers to elected office. We have identified evidence in relation to the number of women in elected office and their experiences, but very little evidence in relation to other underrepresented groups. We have identified three areas where we would like to have a clearer understanding of existing evidence base and gaps.
