PROVISION OF THE MANSFIELD FUNERAL SERVICE

Nottinghamshire County Council ("the Council") on behalf of Mansfield District Council is seeking competitive quotes for the provision of a Funeral initiative, providing lower cost funerals to families in the Mansfield, Ashfield and Newark and Sherwood district areas. Procurement of Funeral Director to deliver lower cost funeral services.

Mansfield District Council wishes to appoint a Supplier to provide The Mansfield Funeral Service package under a concession arrangement for an initial period of 3 years with the option of the contract being extended for 2 x 1 year periods (1+1), at the Council's discretion.

The purpose of the Mansfield Funeral Service Scheme is to facilitate access to a funeral package that offers best value for the citizens of Mansfield, Ashfield and Newark and Sherwood. This package is also designed to provide for a dignified and respectful funeral. The Mansfield Funeral Service scheme is only available at the time of death. It is not a pre-paid Funeral Plan.

The take up of The Mansfield Funeral Service package will be new to Mansfield, Ashfield and Newark and Sherwood Districts however Nottingham Funerals, which serves the City of Nottingham carries out circa 600 funerals per annum. The Council gives no guarantee however regarding volume or take up of The Mansfield Funeral Service.
