Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service prides itself in its community safety and response activities it provides to the people of Leicestershire. As part of our ongoing commitment we are recruiting 25 Whole-Time firefighters during 2017.
The purpose of this notification is to identify suitable suppliers of Firefighter Basic Training who would be eligible to tender for this work.
Prospective suppliers must have an up to date working knowledge of relevant legislation and appropriate standards of training for whole time firefighters. Suppliers should have appropriate premises, resources and instructional staff to enable delivery of practical and theoretical training.
Suppliers should have a working knowledge of the core competencies of the Fire Professional Framework and National Occupational Standards for Fire and Rescue. An ability to award nationally accredited qualifications will also be an advantage.
The tender specification for this work will include options to provide both residential and 'outreach' style provision.

The programme must last no longer than 8 weeks.
Start on the 18th September 2017.
It is expected that 25 Firefighters will be recruited however capacity to accommodate 28 Trainee Firefighters maybe required.
Training providers that have experience in delivering firefighter basic training programme to local authority fire services with appropriately qualified training staff and resources will be considered.
Training providers who can provide both residential and 'outreach' style provision will be considered.
