description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 16 June 2017 for the following reason: Added - Inclusion in Contracts FinderThe Ramp buildings date back to the1940s and are temporary buildings. These buildings are well beyond their anticipated life span, and have been identified in the Trust 6 Facet Survey as Poor / requiring high cost investment and are energy inefficient. Due to the complexities of demolishing the entire Ramp, the Ramp has been designated in two sections: Upper and Lower Ramp. The Lower Ramp was demolished in 2011/12, and the space was used to create a staff car park.

Ashford and St Peter's NHS Foundation Trust (The Trust) now wishes to demolish the Upper Ramp and create space for the Trust future developments. The proposed works involves the careful demolition of Block 46, 50, 51, local Boiler Plant room and associated ramp corridor. It also includes services diversion for Bock 54, Asbestos removal, construction of car parks, provision of works compound and an access route for the new Urgent Care and Assessment Block, together with improvement of the road network.

Scope of the project

•Provision and maintenance of utilities to Block 54 until 2020/21;

•Diversion of all services currently routed through the Ramp;

•Demolition of Block 46, 50, 51, local Boiler Plant Room and associated ramp corridor as far as the fire doors in the corridor linking Level 2 DOK and PEW; •Grading of the released land and formation of a new 90-spaces tarmacked visitor car park;

•Levelling the sloped green area in the main staff car park and designing a new layout for the staff cark park;

•Closure of Hazel Car Park at the end of this project; this car park will be used as a contractor works compound for building the new UCAA Block; •Additional external lighting.

Please refer to the attached project brief for more details.
