Working Hours: - 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm

Pay Rate: Band 18.03 Per Hour PAYE,

Start date: ASAP until the 31/3/2020

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to the position of Senior Air Pollution Officer within Public Health.

You must have:-

• oKnowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
• oEither, fully qualified Environmental Health Officer, registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board Or, Higher certificate in Food Control and NEBOSH National General Certificate or an equivalent health and safety qualification
• oAbility to use specialist equipment, training will be provided
• oKnowledge on Air pollution permits
• oKnowledge of Environmental Health functions and relevant legislation
• oAdvance knowledge of the Environmental Health functions, related legislation and codes and practice
• oKnowledge of the Divisions' administrative and support systems
• oUnderstanding of equality, Quality and Customer Care Policies and Procedures
• oMaintaining expertise in an area of specialism on behalf of the Environmental Health Service
• oGood interpersonal skills

Must be able to: -

• oTravel around the borough of Sandwell to various locations of Sandwell
• oAct as an Enforcement Officer
• oWork flexibly as part of a team and on own initiative
• oCommunicate with individuals from all social and intellectual levels
• oWork with local communities, voluntary groups, businesses and public-sector Officers across the Sandwell partnership.
• oUnderstand and interpret complex legislation
• oOrganise oneself in the face of conflicting demands and priorities and working effectively under pressure
• oA commitment to the principles of customer focussed quality public services.
