1415-266 Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities parenting programmes

<b>Current status / Background </b> Islington's Early Help and Family Support strategy notes the value of providing evidence based parenting programmes as an intervention to support families. In addition to high quality support in universal services, specific local early help services will typically include family and parenting programmes. <b>The requirement </b> The parenting programmes will be available to parents of children aged 3-18 years old living within the Borough, or whose children attend an Islington school. We are seeking organisations with relevant skills and knowledge, which are able to demonstrate their experience of delivering the Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities Parenting Programmes for Parents of Children aged 3-18 years as per the attached service specification. Organisations will need to have a proven track record of: Delivering 6 Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities Parenting Programmes for Parents of Children aged 3-18 years per year Providing culturally and linguistically sensitive services to families particularly from the Somali and Bengali communities Providing a safe and supportive space in which parents can rediscover their abilities and rebuild their confidence, increasing their attachment with children and parenting skills Promoting and increasing support networks for individuals within their communities.
