description

Further market engagement.

Brighton and Hove CCG wishes to review how it commissions a community anticoagulation service. Anticoagulation therapy is used to treat and prevent blood clots. The therapy is needed for people with atrial fibrillation (AF) [i], venous thromboembolism (VTE) [ii] and other conditions such as prosthetic heart valves and cardiomyopathy.

Additional information: Brighton and Hove CCG is undertaking this second market engagement exercise after reviewing the responses received to the first engagement in July/August 2015.

The Commissioner has reviewed the responses and made some changes to the Service Outline (please refer to the Service Outline updated version issued with this RFI – Second Issue). The purpose of this RFI – Second Issue, is to seek the views of providers in light of the changes made. Providers who have not sent their views to the Commissioner before now are also welcome to submit a response.

This RFI – Second Issue also includes Part 3 – an optional information exchange opportunity for Main/Sub Contractors.

Providers are asked to review the information provided in the Draft Service Outline and to feedback comments by completing the Request for Information (RFI) document which should be returned to Kristina Chapman, who is also available to be contacted by telephone. Please refer to the RFI document for contact details and instructions about how to return the completed RFI document by no later than 22nd September 2015.

This exercise is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information gathering exercise offering an opportunity for all providers to help inform commissioning intentions. This process will assist the Commissioner when considering if procurement is an appropriate route to use to commission the service. A new advertisement will be published should procurement be the chosen route in the future. The two documents available are 1) Draft Service Outline(2), and 2) Request for Information (2).
