description

Our research group at the University of Manchester require a complete turnkey solution capable of conducting a range of computer controlled static and dynamic mechanical tests. This system must be integrated with our existing temperature and humidity environmental chamber for synchronised control and readout, along with a variety of supplied and/or third party measurement sensors.

We require a system capable of performing high cycle fatigue pre-cracking of alloys under specific, tightly controlled conditions of humidity and temperature (as supplied by our existing chamber). This is to be followed by immediate, in situ, transition to a variety of static tests (e.g. slow strain rate) optimised for loads up to +/-30 kN, but with capacity to +/- 100 kN. The transition between fatigue and slow strain rate type tests needs to be achieved whilst maintaining the environment continuously without interruption, with the transition taking a maximum of a few minutes.
