Birmingham City Council invites organisations to make an application to be considered for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for:
Chimney removal and replacement with a stainless steel flue and the refurbishment of the staff room and kitchen.
Brief Description of Works:
Chimney removal, installation of a stainless steel flue and refurbishment of 2 rooms:
- Remove the chimney stack and support the opening using steel beams.
- Supply and install a stainless steel flue.
- Make good the surrounding areas to the cleaners’ cupboard and corridor following the chimney removal to match the existing.
- Strip out and dispose of the current kitchen fittings
- Refurbish the kitchen (3.8mx3mx2.7m) including new flooring, painting of the ceiling and walls and installation of Howden’s Greenwich Range kitchen fittings.
- Make good to the defected area of the staff room ceiling, plaster and skim to match existing.
- Refurbish the staff room (7.2mx6.2mx2.7m) including new flooring, stripping of the existing wallpaper and painting of the ceiling and walls.
The Council will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration and evaluation of this tender process, which along with the project scope and specification may also include requirements to provide the following for consideration:-
- Company Profile – Turnover, Organograms, Client Relationships, Sales Pipeline, Professional Body Registration / Memberships
- Trade and Bank references (where appropriate).
- Evidence of acceptable H&S and Quality Management Systems & Practices
- Evidence of insurances to support required levels of indemnity & liability
- Evidence of recent project history working on similar projects in similar environments with supporting case studies and method statements
- Evidence of compliance with Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility
