description

Bristol City Council is conducting a soft market test exercise to inform a potential tender for prepaid cards for the Council's Local Crisis and Prevention Fund Emergency Payment Scheme. The overall aim of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to those in greatest need. The potential solution proposed is for the supply of prepaid cards which will be redeemed by eligible service users to buy food and/or fuel (gas and electricity) top up. Ideally the cards will have the ability to be limited to these products and not others, e.g. alcohol and tobacco. The cards will need to be provided in a variety of pre-loaded denominations to allow awards ranging from approximately £25, £50, £100, £125, £150 and £200 or close to. Cards should be able to be re-used multiple times by the same service user up to the pre-determined value of the card/voucher.
