description
Energy efficiency and renewable energy "Assists" are a fundamental part of the delivery of the European Regional Development Funded, Public-Sector Energy Efficiency Programme (PEEP/the Programme), which is scheduled to run from October 2019 until September 2022.
PEEP will provide free to the beneficiary "Assists" for public-sector organisations in Worcestershire by experts who will advise on the potential for energy efficiency improvements and/or renewable energy opportunities of at least 70 public sector properties.
PEEP will provide grants between £2k and £200k for improvements, where a specific need has been identified, (at least 60% match funded by the beneficiary) to help public-sector organisations invest in energy efficiency and/or renewable energy measures. A capital grant fund of £1m will be available.
PEEP is managed by Worcestershire County Council (WCC), who will run a series of events for Worcestershire public-sector organisations, highlighting the benefits of energy efficiency & renewable energy and promoting innovative energy solutions.
PEEP will run alongside the successful Business Energy Efficiency (BEEP) and Low Carbon Opportunities (LoCOP) programmes; which have been active since 2016 and have, to date, provided over 500 energy efficiency and renewable energy assessments to local businesses and >£2m grants for carbon-saving improvements.
