description
Council buildings, Orchard House and The Priory are to be demolished to make way for the Touchwood shopping centre extension. This development presents Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council with the ideal opportunity to refurbish and upgrade Church Hill House in order to implement Agile Working right at the heart of the organisation.
The three primary objectives remain:
| • | To implement Agile Working (previously known as New Ways of Working) in Church Hill House, right at the heart of the Council’s operations |
| • | To reduce carbon emissions and improve long term sustainability |
| • | To sustain the viability of Solihull town centre by supporting Touchwood Two |
Major alterations and refurbishment works to provide open plan office space, including strip out and replacement of services throughout and provision of ground source heat pumps within a newly formed atrium, new active facades, and external works. The Construction phase of the works is programmed to commence in February 2017 and complete in August 2018.
An element of these works may be part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
