Additional information: Ealing CCG has undertaken a review of its community eye care services and evidence of recent developments in best practice. The CCG has now decided on a preferred model and wishes to invite potentially interested providers of eye services to discuss the model and options for service delivery.
This Market Engagement Event on will take place on 1st March 2017, 1030 to 1230 hours, Ealing Town Hall, Uxbridge Road, Ealing, W5 2BY
The strategic drivers for a new model of eye care are: increasing demand for eye care services, high levels of activity in all settings, waiting times, and increased prevalence of long term eye conditions such as glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
The CCG wants to deliver personalised and coordinated eye services to patient need in the community and closer to patient's homes, minimise waiting times, establish clarity and efficiency in referral pathways, and reduce duplication and effort.
The aim of the event will be to:
- Test the preferred clinical model and whether there is interest in delivering it;
- Determine whether the model is clinically and operationally feasible;
- Discuss the scale and scope of the preferred clinical model and the potential size and length of the contract;
- Collate considerations from providers' point of view on market development, risk, skills and capacity, etc. Understand the necessary governance arrangements.
- Get feedback on options for delivery and payment mechanisms that the CCG is considering;
- Assess the types of collaboration that might be possible between providers to deliver this service
The CCG needs to ensure that the new contract will have clearly defined objectives that realistically reflect the services that the CCG wants to provide and what the market can achieve. This Market Engagement process is intended, therefore, as an opportunity for constructive dialogue with providers to appraise what outcomes the market can offer.
As part of this process, we will ask providers to put forward ideas and show how they could deliver the improvements the CCG wishes to make. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to break out into reflection and discussion groups. Interested parties will be asked to submit comments, in commercial confidence, after the event.
Please note - The Market Engagement Event, to be held on the 1st March 2017, does not form any part of an invitation to tender. No supplier selection or supplier preference is implied. Potential responders will not be prejudiced in any future procurement processes by either responding or not responding to this soft market engagement exercise.
If you wish to participate, please contact Kemi Eniade at kemi.eniade@nhs.net and return the attached questionnaire by 1800hrs Monday 27th Feb 2017
Attendance at the Market Engagement Event is limited to a maximum of 2 attendees per organisation. Refreshments will be provided.
