description
The Homes and Communities Agency wish to appoint a contractor to undertake the reconstruction and remedial work to an existing heritage wall located in Upton, Northampton.
The wall’s longstanding presence, since the Medieval times, has rendered sections of the wall liable to collapse. The construction works subsequently involve the rebuilding of the collapsed sections of wall. These works include the exposing of existing foundations, inspection of the structural integrity of the exposed foundations and collapsed wall material, rebuild of the wall and subsequent aftercare treatment works.
The construction of the wall shall be in line with The English Heritage Trust regeneration expectations as well as being comparable to recent rebuilt sections of the wall.
General works will include:
| • | Assessment of current state of wall/materials |
| • | Procurement of materials |
| • | Re-build of the wall |
| • | Producing construction drawings |
| • | Producing method statements |
| • | Producing material submittal (inclusive of bond patterns for approval) |
| • | Provide a test panel for approval |
The contractor will also be responsible for maintaining the surrounding environment to the existing standard and repairing any damages made due to the transportation of construction materials/plant.
Additional information: The closing time for tenders is 1pm.
All discussions, meetings and communications will be conducted in English.
The contract will be subject to English law. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in GBP and all payments under the contract will be made in GBP.
