1166 The provision of Hawthorn Building Roof Slab Replacement,at De Montfort University

De Montfort University seeks to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to carry out building works to its Hawthorn Building, Leicester Campus.

The Contractor will carry out the following works:

Remove existing concrete slab and replace with new. Existing concrete slab is of 1930s construction with clay pots and in-situ concrete support beams. The slab has experienced damage through wind loading and water ingress over a long period of time. The roof slab requires demolition and removal and the supporting wall requires partial rebuild and strengthening. A new concrete slab will be laid on profile metal decking approximately 3m x 4m in size. A full scaffold will be required externally and internally to provide access to the roof.
