description

Drivers’ license requirements for the towing of trailers have changed for drivers passing their test on or after 1st January 1997. To tow a trailer weighing more than 750 kilograms when the combined weight of the towing vehicle and trailer is more than 3,500 kilograms the driver will have to pass a further test in category B+E.

This is going to affect Bolsover District Councils operational teams who have to use trailers to transport goods as part of their duties. To ensure flexibility for operations, compliance with the law and a proactive approach to keeping our teams safe and healthy whilst driving at work, Bolsover District Council is looking to implement a schedule for trailer training.

There are initially 15 or so employees that require this training with the likelihood of this number increasing in the future.
