Rate of Pay: Band J ?26.92 to ?28.61 per hour PAYE (Inside IR35)

Hours: 37 per week

Location: Council House, Oldbury

Brief description:

We are currently looking for an experienced individual to work within the Legal and Governance directorate. We are looking for highly experienced candidates who will be able to work with elected members as well as support and assist the Service Manager-Democratic Services and the Director of Law and Governance to project manage and implement a review of the Council Constitution and democratic Governance arrangements.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

• oEvidence of exposure to or an established understanding of the democratic process.
• oA proven track record in project management.
• oExperience of Governance services within the Local Government environment.
• oProven experience of reviewing and drafting council constitutions and delegations
• oProven experience of dealing with council meetings
• oAbility to deal with high volume casework and complex matters under pressure
• oAbility to understand complex legislation and reports quickly
• oTo be able to produce accurate and concise documents, reports, letters and general correspondence
