The Gardeners' House is a dilapidated two storey 19th Century stone stable building approximately 20m long by 5m wide set within Morrab Gardens, Penzance. The works which are part funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Penzance Town Deal will repair, renovate and extend the building to become an environmental education hub. The external works include a new Garden Workshop, Sensory Garden and drainage. The building is situated within a public garden and has two other operational community buildings either side The new building will house a rare botanical archive and provide study and training areas. The renovation will include traditional masonry, carpentry, joinery and slate skills together with modern construction such as landscaped roofing, a lift, solar PV roofing and a ground source heat pump.

The tender includes a quality assessment. We are seeking to engage a main contractor who has a track record of experience of listed building work and both financial and technical capacity to deliver the scheme using the local supply chain. Tenders that do not reasonably fulfil this criteria may be discounted
