This capability is expanding, requiring technical experts to support existing applications and architecture but also to deliver further capabilities in the future. This includes developing and maintaining through-life, a range of bespoke applications and services run for ArmyNet, and web applications hosted on the Joint Server Farm provided through Rackspace. | • | Know and understand the security requirements of the DGW and its content. |
| • | Develop applications so that they are not susceptible to Penetration Testing by employing a range of techniques including, yet not limited to, SQL Injection and cross site scripting. |
| • | Provide through-life support, and enhancements, to the DGW on the basis of a good knowledge of programming languages; the technologies involved; and the platforms on which the applications are hosted. |
| • | Write and produce relevant technical design documentation to support applications based upon direction of SO2 Web Services, and to the standards specified by the AIS Software Development Standards and in support of the ITIL Service Design Pack (SDP). |
| • | To provide expert advice and opinion in understandable terms on the DGW and more broadly on the pros and cons of web technologies, to non-technical managers. |
It is essential the selected incumbent has the following skills:
| • | Knowledge, experience and demonstrable ability in VB/ C#/ ASP.Net (VS 2013 including Authentication / Authorisation / Web Services / AJAX / State Management (Application, Session, Cache, Cookies) / Web Farm Deployment). |
