description

As part of a call by ERDF to address barriers to R&I in the CDIT sector, the University of Brighton's Digital Research and Innovation Value Accelerator project, (DRIVA), provides unprecedented access to Gatwick Airport's big data, including flight data, for start-ups and existing small and medium-sized businesses operating in the digital and information technology sectors across the full Coast to Capital region http://www.coast2capital.org.uk/our-area/

Funding has also been awarded from the Arts Council of England (ACE) to extend DRIVA activity and integrate the wider arts, cultural and creative industry sectors.

Based at the University's Data Research and Innovation Lab, DRIVA enables CDIT businesses, creatives and cultural organisations opportunities to develop next generation product, service and experience innovations through a mix of support from the University including R&D grants, expert advice, and access to specialist facilities.

DRIVA seeks to solve the bottleneck in the development of the digital economy where large organisations often cannot release value from their big data as it is costly, complex and time consuming and SMEs cannot innovate with big data as they cannot get access to it.
