Home Delivery (Inc Pharma Schemes) of Mid Tech (Self Injecting) products

“Mid Tech Home Delivery” is the description used for a “dispense, deliver and collect waste"service for patients self injecting prescribed Product. This tender will include all Mid Tech products. Further, Pharma schemes, where covered by the general service descriptor, will fall under this tender for the service element until such time a Nationally Agreed service specification for Pharma schemes is approved and adopted by both Pharma and the NHS.

There are several thousand patients either being treated or suitable for the homecare supply of medicines and it is anticipated that this number will continue to rise in the next few years. Estimated numbers for this therapy area within the EMPC members Trusts are provided within the offer schedule. It is requested that bidders provide charges for a range of delivery frequencies ranging from monthly up to six monthly as well as charges for bulk deliveries and discounts for deliveries to retail pharmacy premises. Due to the recent instability in the Homecare market, the number of patients currently on Homecare has reduced significantly.

Bidders will purchase, store and distribute the required medicines.

Licences to undertake this service are required and must be carried out on certified premises with the correct licences in place.

A nursing support service will be an optional extra as part of the bid.

Main Trusts are currently situated within the East Midlands with a small proportion in the West Midlands
