Cyber Security Pre-Accelerator

UK Shared Business Services Ltd as the Contracting Authority is putting in place a contract for a Cyber Security Pre-Accelerator Programme on behalf of Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

The Cyber Security and Resilience team in DCMS is seeking to invest in a new cyber security pre-accelerator programme which will help to transform cyber security ideas into viable propositions and new businesses.

It will be set up within an existing accelerator or pre-accelerator and among other activities will run activities that help build teams, inspire new entrepreneurs, identify and validate ideas and support their development.

This programme will increase support for new cyber security entrepreneurs and help de-risk the concept and early idea stage where ideas are usually less defined and more at risk of failure.

Specifically it will:

• Support increased exploitation of cyber research, help identify new ideas and facilitate development of entrepreneurial skills.
• Help to transform early stage ideas into viable propositions and potential new businesses.
• Maximize the ability of new cyber ideas to receive the support they need to enable them succeed
• And ultimately provide a pathway connecting early stage ideas into more mature incubators and accelerators or other more mature Innovation support mechanisms.
