description

Herts FullStop (HFS) is one of a number of trading arms operated by Hertfordshire County Council and has over 60 years' experience of supplying goods and services to a wide range of customers which include; educational establishments, non-profit making groups such as charities, the NHS, local authorities and childminder groups. HFS is a distributor of products provided via its catalogue service, which has over 18,500 products delivered to customers across the country.

A key element to HFS's success is a well-run warehouse and delivery function. This is currently staffed by a team of permanent workers, with temporary workers being bought in at periods of high demand to help keep the service levels at the high standards our customers expect.

Systems and support are provided on various areas such as ICT and Telecoms through the relationship with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), with areas unique to HFS being supported directly with the providers of the Systems concerned.

The business is expected to continue using some shared services provided by HCC, whilst developing its own ICT infrastructure with a best of breed software platform supporting business functions.

As such, HFS is looking at investing in a Business Management/ERP Solution and updating the current ICT hardware infrastructure within the organisation to incorporate this.

The vision for the new solution is to provide the organisation with a more dynamic system that is suited to our requirements, has the ability to access efficiencies and the capability to be scalable for future expansion. The Contract will be awarded with an initial Discovery Phase prior to full implementation. Full details are within the Tender documentation.

Organisations should be aware that due to the nature of the Services provided, any Contract formed as a result of this procurement process shall be executed as a deed. Organisations should seek independent legal advice on the implications of this prior to submitting their bid, where appropriate.
