description
RBK are seeking a contractor to install and maintain folding bike hire stations at 3 new locations across the borough (see specification).
| • | Kingston Town Centre, |
| • | Kingston Station and |
| • | New Malden Station. |
Once contract is awarded further details on specific locations will be notified by RBK.
There should be a minimum of 12 folding bikes at each location. RBK may stagger the installations. RBK reserve the right to change the proposed locations from those stated above or to not install hire stations if TfL funding is withdrawn or project spending priorities change.
- Hire stations and bikes to be branded with Council's mini-Holland brand 'Go Cycle'.
All bikes and bike station elements are to be delivered to each site by the successful contractor and installed in line with Council health and safety procedures with all necessary permits from the Council. The contractor will be expected to provide and carry out the installation of quality folding bikes and secure facilities to hire them from. The facilities will need to be accessible 24/7 but secure against theft and vandalism.
The whole cycle hire scheme must be self-sustaining. The contractor will be expected to cover the cost of installing and maintaining the bikes and hire facilities, as well as managing the membership and booking systems. Apart from the initial installation cost there should not be any ongoing financial commitment needed from RBK past the initial payment.
