RFQ for a Making Steel Interactive for North Lincolnshire Museum

North Lincolnshire Council is seeking quotations for the production and installation of a 'Making Steel Interactive' for the new Steel Town Gallery at North Lincolnshire Museum in Scunthorpe. At North Lincolnshire Museum we are currently installing a new gallery about the history of the Iron and Steel industry in Scunthorpe. The new gallery will open on 19 May 2017. We plan to include an interactive aimed at young children (under 5) that shows the process of making steel in a simple and interactive way and conveys some of the sensory experiences of working in a steelworks. We are seeking quotes from companies with a proven track record in creating high quality museum interactives, to build and install the Making Steel Interactive at North Lincolnshire Museum. The interactive to be installed week beginning 16 October 2017.

The interactive will be mounted onto the base of a display case at a low level. Dimensions of the space available are approximately 500mm high and 3400mm wide. As it will be mounted within the case base the overall depth for the interactive should be limited to approximately 300mm. Please see Appendix 1 for the display case elevation and cross section and the proposed location of the interactive. Please note as the display case is currently under construction the successful contractor will be put in touch with the joiner in order to confirm final measurements before construction on the Making Steel Interactive commences.
