description

UK Shared Business Services Ltd as the Contracting Authority is putting in place a contract for a Training Programme for Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associates on behalf of Innovate UK.

This is a government-funded programme which aims to enable organisations to access the Technology, Knowledge & Skills available in Universities, Colleges and Research & Technology Organisations across the UK to undertake collaborative projects for strategic development of their business.

The aim of the KTP programme is to stimulate innovation and enable businesses to improve their competitiveness, productivity & performance through the understanding, sharing & use of new knowledge, technology & skills.

Through this process, KTP’s also help to increase the business relevance of research and teaching in academia alongside raising the commercial awareness of KTP Associates to benefit their future careers.

KTP’s involve the formation of a ‘partnership’ between a Business Enterprise and an Academic Institution, with the collaborative project delivered by one, or more, recently qualified KTP Associates to transfer the required Skills & Expertise from academia into business.

KTP Associates are ‘early-career’ postgraduates, university graduates or individuals qualified to at least NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) and are employed specifically to undertake the designated KTP project. While the KTP Associate is employed by the academic institution, they will undertake the KTP project at the business premises whilst being supported by both an Academic and a Business Supervisor.
