BFG FUNERAL SERVICES

Funeral Services - the recovery and transfer of the deceased from locations within or outside the borders of Germany to the British Forces Germany (BFG) Designated Mortuary, located with Stadt Klinikum Gutersloh and other locations as defined by the Authority. It is essential that the Royal Military Police (RMP) have the means to request fast and immediate recovered of the deceased, especially when death occurs outside hospitals, in order to ensure security and integrity of potential investigative evidence for pathology purposes. The preparation of the deceased, this includes (once permission to do so has been given by the RMP) the fitting and/or removal of clothing prior to viewing by the next of kin; provision for, on request from G1 Cas Comp, funeral services for local burials (in British Military Cemeteries or local cemeteries) including the provision of suitable coffins (as detailed in the Statement of Requirement (SOR); arrangment of documentation and liaison with local crematoriums as necessary.
