Water Safety Services Contract for Thanet Coastline

Thanet District Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced organisation for the provision of Water Safety Services around the Thanet Coastline. This service will help us minimise the risk to local residents and visitors alike using a combination of education, signage and formal lifeguard patrols Key requirements are: 1. Provision, delivery and monitoring of lifeguard services at key beach locations based on sound risk assessment focussing on high footfall areas and areas with complicated hazards. 2. Evidence of comprehensive employment and training systems for all managers, supervisors and lifeguards. 3. Education programme to include key information produced by Thanet District Council in local schools and at key community events. 4. Investment in water safety equipment, staff bases and high visibility viewing points for key locations as per point 1. 5. Support the content and placement of water safety signage around coastline and achievement of quality assurance awards. 6. Assist Thanet District Council and its partners in terms of beach cleanliness and implementation of beach safety aspects. The contract is for a 5 year period with an option to extend for a further 3 plus 2 year period at the sole discretion of the council. The procurement process will be undertaken on the basis of an open tender. All tenders will be accepted subject to the tenderer providing suitable responses to grounds for Mandatory and Discretionary Rejection and that minimum standards are met as set out in the Invitation to Tender document. Evaluation will be on the basis of criteria as set out in the Invitation To Tender document.
