description

The Royal Parks (TRP) is an executive agency of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and manages eight of the London’s Royal Parks – St James’s Park, The Green Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Regent’s Park (& Primrose Hill), Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. It is also responsible for a number of other areas including Brompton Cemetery, Victoria Tower Gardens and Grosvenor Square Gardens.

Over the last four years, TRP has developed a prestigious portfolio of lodges and other buildings throughout all of the Royal Parks. In that time, 12 lodges have been refurbished to a very high standard providing residential accommodation in the stunning environment of London’s Royal Parks. In addition, other projects have been completed including the refurbishment of public toilets, improvements to existing accommodation facilities (mess rooms, offices and storage facilities) and the provision of small-scale new buildings such as catering kiosks, cafes and service buildings plus various other minor works.

TRP is currently seeking expressions of interest from specialist contractors suitably experienced in refurbishment works, listed buildings, residential and commercial projects, with experience of working within sensitive environments being advantageous.

Tenderers must demonstrate a breadth of experience across a variety of refurbishment projects from modern to traditional to historic listed buildings. Tenderers will need to be able to demonstrate excellent time management of projects and a capability to take on the challenges presented by working within these sensitive environments.

TRP intends to call-off the Framework to refurbish more lodges each year in addition to other refurbishment works projects. As part of the tendering exercise, bidders will be invited to tender for the refurbishment of No. 1 Upper Lodge Mews, a residence in Bushy Park.

Framework Suppliers will assemble a team of refurbishment specialists to competitively tender for individual projects such as lodge refurbishments and other similar-scale projects within the eight Royal Parks.

During the term of the Framework Agreement, TRP anticipates that around 20 projects (average value between £75k to £200k) will be tendered. The Framework duration will be three years from the date of appointment with the opportunity to extend by up to 12 months by mutual consent. TRP is seeking completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaires from which a short-list of 12 contractors will be established who will be invited to tender.

Six Framework Suppliers will be appointed and the highest scoring bidder will be awarded the refurbishment of No. 1 Upper Lodge Mews as the first project under the Framework with an anticipated on-site start date of early 2016.
