description

Durham University wish to purchase a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with an associated automated mineralogy platform that can quickly image, scan, and characterise at high resolution and the minerals and textures commonly analysed for in thin and polished sections. The SEM platform should be able to accommodate a high throughput, operating over a large sample area and accepting multiple samples at once. The SEM should operate under high vacuum, variable pressure (low vaccum), and as an environmental SEM. We also require some ancillary equipment to help prepare samples for analysis in the unit. This will be a one off purchase.
