description
The Council is looking to procure a contractor to deliver a two nursery school classroom (approximately 30 pupils) modular expansion at Chelwood Nursery School, Chelwood Walk, London SE4 2QQ, as part of the on-going delivery of education capital schemes by the Council's Capital Programme Delivery Team under the Pupil Places Programme.
Due to the limitations of available budget, the tender process will seek to achieve a price for the classrooms, and then a separate price for the addition of a dining hall and servery space, to allow for serving of food to the additional children attending the nursery school. This addition of a dining space and server area would only be subject to affordability within the existing budget envelope, and will be implemented as a variation to the contract. We would expect a separate price for the dining / server element, and this WILL NOT form part of the assessment evaluation. The evaluation for award of this scheme is for the classroom element ONLY.
The works are to be delivered ahead of the summer holidays 2018. We would aim to commence works on 1st June 2019 for a late July 2019 finish (about 8 weeks). While the site is partitioned and works are taking place, the nursery school will remain open and in normal operation.
The service / works will include, but is not limited to:
| • | 2 x permanent classroom spaces provided via modular construction, at ground floor level on existing open playground space (see attached plan) |
| • | Secure access, linked to the rest of the school system |
| • | Data and power, linked to the rest of the school system |
| • | Drainage (per employers requirements) |
| • | Specification robust nursery school provision (see employers requirements) |
| • | Ensure meets fire safety for the site |
| • | Loose furniture & ICT not included |
| • | Fixed FF&E included |
Required Outcomes (key deliverables):
| • | Scheme successfully delivered by commencement of summer holidays end of July 2019 |
| • | Successful handover of site with full O&M and H&S files in place |
| • | High level of satisfaction for end user (school) and CYP Client |
