SO14792; Estates Regeneration Work

This is a follow up to the Regeneration & Intensification of Housing Supply report which GPU has part-funded in 2014/15. The Regeneration & Intensification of Housing Supply report is a study conducted by Savills to research and inform policy on increasing the supply of popular, high quality neighbourhoods in London. Savills have been asked to undertake some additional work for inclusion in the report.

• Savills are to revisit original report and redesign two of the sites looked at to incorporate bigger and taller buildings, where appropriate, and in on site to retain the three 22 storey towers on the site. This will require recalibration of all the unit numbers to re-calculate density. The build costs will have to be reassessed and the schemes revalued. All the relevant tables and diagrams will need to be replaced in the report and any commentary amended accordingly.

Savills will also re-examine the estimates of land area involved, with a view to making realistic estimates of how many units might be delivered by the complete streets method. The report will have to be amended to reflect this. In addition Savills have been asked to draw a ‘before and after’ scene of the sort of streetscapes that a) currently exist and b) would be typical of a ‘complete streets’ solution.
