Leadership Development Programme

The senior leadership programme is aimed at selected officers and staff in the force to support and develop identified individuals in the senior ranking talent and promotion pool.

It will create a skill set for future succession planning and be an investment in our staff .

The content includes embedding inclusive leadership, using personal leadership skills, leading multiple teams in workplace, organisational & business leadership and empowering communities, stakeholders & partners. Leading to CMI Level 7 Award in Strategic Management & Leadership

Additional information: This qualification will be provided by Leadership in Action (LIA) who will also be providing the delivery and content for the training modules that will meet the new College of Policing National Curriculum for the Senior and mid-Level Leaders programme. This is a pilot leadership programme.

The content used in one of these modules will then be evidenced and will align to the Level 7 Award in Strategic Management & Leadership.

Leadership in Action are closely affiliated with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) who are well-known company for gaining awards and qualifications at level 7 status.

This procurement has been scoped as the most achievable in the time frame for the size of the cohort anticipated to be 30 individuals. It enables the course content to be accredited and ensure our officers and staff can achieve a recognised qualification whilst enhancing their skill set.

Time is of the essence as all learners will need to be signed up for the award by end of August 2023, therefore we needed to get people enrolled as soon as possible.
