description
The Cornwall Transformation Challenge Award (TCA) programme aims to improve how the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector works with the Council in order to improve outcomes for people in Cornwall. More detail is available at: www.cornwall.gov.uk/cornwalltca
The TCA Programme Board has agreed to allocate up to £25,000 as matched funding for proposals which are a good strategic fit with TCA. This sum could fund up to two projects. We are particularly interested in projects that support the development and testing of innovative solutions in the following areas:
- Improving Information and Support provided to people facing debt or welfare challenges (links to Smart Money – money management skills and debt reduction). We are developing a ‘blueprint’ for a new approach to meeting people’s needs for Information and Support. Forthcoming welfare changes are likely to increase financial pressure on large numbers of people;
- Producing, preparing and providing quality food and social stimulation to people in need (links to Food Wealth – nutrition and skills for life). One of the areas we are exploring is whether innovative solutions from the third sector can help people re-engage with training or employment whilst also supporting poor, vulnerable or isolated people in communities.
We are happy to talk to potential bidders about their emerging proposals. Bidders should contact Denbigh Cowley at 01872 322426 (office) or dcowley@cornwall.gov.uk
Any proposals for matched funding from TCA will be evaluated against the following criteria:
- strategic fit to TCA objectives;
- alignment to one of the Phase 2 TCA projects;
- value for money.
Proposals must be received by 5pm on 13 June, 2016 and successful bidders will be notified by 16 June, 2016. A condition of TCA funding will be that a TCA nominee will be involved in the development of both stages of the application and that the Full Application will have to be presented to the TCA Programme Board for approval.
