LLR Alliance has been formed by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, LLR Provider Company Limited, East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and West Leicestershire CCG. The Alliance provides services including outpatient appointments, outpatient treatment, day case surgery and diagnostic services across LLR community hospitals. The partnership makes best use of clinical resources and offers flexible, elective and diagnostic services ensuring wide patient choice. They are actively moving more services into both community hospitals and Primary Care settings over the next few years as part of the Better Care Together strategy. To assist in the delivery of its services the Alliance is inviting expressions of interest to fulfill its requirement for the provision of a mobile MRI Service to provide evidence based mobile MRI services within a community setting at Loughborough Hospital and Hinckley and Bosworth Hospital and either a mobile MRI service in East Leicestershire and Rutland or a nearby fixed MRI service. The forecast outturn activity for 2014/15 is anticipated to be c3727 scans. The provider will own or rent all equipment involved in providing the service and ensure that all equipment is regularly serviced and maintained as recommended by the manufacturer. The Provider shall ensure that the service is delivered by Staff who are UK Registered Radiologists on the GMC Specialist Register and who have reported on a minimum of 1000 MRI scans in the in the last 12 months as well as UK Registered Radiographers who have: A minimum of 1 years' experience; Undertaken a minimum of 900 MRI examinations per annum; Assurance of competency assessment and up to date Continuous Professional Development; and Meet the specification set out in the 'National Occupational Standards for Imaging' (RD5- Produce MRI images for diagnostic purposes). Staff will have English as a first language or have passed a suitable English language examination to the level of requirement set out on the Health Professions Council website. (http://www.hpc-uk .org/apply/international/requirements/) It is anticipated that the Service commencement date will be the 1st of June 2015 with an initial contract period of 3 years with an option to extend by a further 2 years subject to performance and continued value for money. For administrative purposes this procurement exercise will be conducted by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust on behalf of the Alliance.
