Detail of works – Supply, Installation and commission of electrical services for the resilient services to DC1 Project Number PS2015-023 WP3

1. Scope of Works

Unless otherwise noted in this specification, the Contractor shall supply, deliver, off load, position, erect, test, commission and set to work all equipment necessary to complete the works detailed in the following sections of this specification.

Strip out

Skips where required shall be placed in locations agreed with the University. All skips located on site shall be lockable and secured when not in use.

Strip out all redundant services within the contract areas, extent to be agreed on site with the CA.

Offer to the University any items removed prior to disposal off site, in accordance with all current legislation.

All works to be carried out by a NICEIC or ECA registered contractor.

Provide copies to the CA of all electrical staff CSCS cards prior to any operative working on the electrical installation.

Mains Cabling

The contractor shall include for all cabling noted on the contract drawings. All cables are to be installed in accordance with the workmanship standards laid out in this document.

Supply a new MCCB for the existing Square D switch cubicle, DH range – 400A TP rated.

Installation of the final termination and MCCB to be out of hours, by arrangement with CA. All works to be in accordance with HSG 85.

All armoured cable glands to be 3 part type.

All cables to be labelled with critchley K type markers at each end and every 10 meters.

Install equipotential bonding to the containment system, using 10mm Cu/BS6491B cable.

PS2015-023 WP3 DC1 INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE

Provide a high integrity earthing system to the overall scheme, as noted on the drawings.

All cables to be BASEC approved provide certification to the CA.

Cable drums are to be delivered and received on site by the contractor. Drums are to be removed within 1 week of practical completion, otherwise they will be disposed of by the CA and costs deducted for skip etc.

Lighting No works

Small Power

Provide wiring for the generator auxiliary circuits and final connection to terminals installed by others, test and commissioned under this package.

Containment systems

Containment systems will be installed in anticipation of the works. Additional containment will be required in the ground floor area, from the lift lobby to DC1. Include the provision of

20. meters of heavy duty return flange galvanised steel tray & necessary support unistrut and drop rods etc.

Additional containment to the final location of the generator will be required; this will be identified on site, as a variation to the contract.

Include the provision of a suspended ceiling specialist to remove fully ceilings on level 1 prior to the install...
