The London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) is seeking expressions of interest from interested organisations for the above services. <b>Description:</b> LBTH is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to tender for the provision of Mosques and community engagement service. The Tower Hamlets Community Plan outlines the vision for borough where people want to live and work and achieve their full potential. The Council is committed to developing a cohesive borough and our latest Annual Residents Survey show 81% of residents agree that people from different backgrounds get on well together. The Equality Act 2010 places a legal duty on the Council to reduce inequality and foster good relations between different groups. The borough's Single Equality Framework 2014/15 identifies equality issues that require strategic intervention to address poor outcomes effecting the local Muslim population. The Mosques and community engagement service will provide a support service for local mosques and the Muslim community which increases engagement on areas of poor outcomes affecting the Muslim community, improve cohesion and safeguard young people and vulnerable adults from harm and radicalisation. The service will be delivered on the principles of partnership working with the emphasis on using mosques and other faith groups to engage the local community. The Service will engage mosques in the borough and consider the needs of different mosques due to size or capacity. The service must provide the following functions: · Engagement and empowerment · Broadening support functions · Cohesion events · Networking & partnership working You will be expected to : Develop projects that improve outcomes for local residents Develop capacity of local organisations to deliver wider social and welfare support service services Recruit suitable staff who are able to engage local mosques, faith groups and range of partners in the delivery of the service Have systems and process for delivery of the service including monitoring use of service <b><u>Supplier Briefing Session</u></b> The Council intends on holding a supplier briefing session on: <b>Date: Tuesday 25th August 2015,</b> <b>Time: 10:00am-11am</b> <b>Place: Room C1 (1st Floor) at Tower Hamlets Mulberry Place Town Hall</b>.<b></b> The Purpose of this event is to inform the market of the Council's intent to tender for the provision of Mosques and community engagement service contract and the processes and requirements that will need to be followed and met to tender for this opportunity. <u>Deadline for registration to attend the Supplier Briefing (via the portal):..(view full details to see more)
