description

The Met Office wishes to replace its current network of wind sensors. We are seeking new combined wind speed and direction sensors that will be deployed on marine buoys operating around the British Isles. It is anticipated that around 60 sensors may be required throughout the life of any subsequent contract (however, this estimate is provided for information only and no guarantees of demand can be provided).

Due to the nature of the marine environment, the solution will be subjected to extreme conditions such as: strong winds, driving rain, saltwater, ice, vibration and shock. The solution provided must operate consistently in a marine environment and provide accurate and reliable outputs.

The Met Office intends to award a framework agreement to a single supplier for the provision of Ultrasonic Wind Sensors. The framework will be for a 4-year fixed term. To access this opportunity please sign up to our opportunities portal ProContract - https://procontract.due-north.com/Login
