Longhurst Group - Communal Area Cleaning Services

Longhurst Group is procuring on behalf of L&H Homes for Communal Area and Window Cleaning services.

Longhurst Group is a leading provider of housing, care and support services operating in more than 45 Local Authority areas across the Midlands and East of England; managing over 18,700 homes.

L&H Homes Limited (L&H) is part of the Longhurst Group and now manages over 8,600 homes in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

This tender process is being initiated to procure one new single contract, working across Longhurst Group’s geographical area for circa 100 blocks of properties with communal areas such as communal stairs, stair lifts,lifts and corridors, communal rooms such as lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, laundry rooms, guest rooms etc.

This includes offices if within these buildings or separately specified locations, storage areas, external binstores, sweeping and litter picking of car parks and surrounding areas, internal and external window cleaning.

Each location has a specified list of tasks and areas to be cleaned, each to it's own specified frequency. All work is to be carried out to a common specification.

The approximate budgets for these works are (net of VAT):

Communal Area Cleaning Services: £140,000 per annum

Window Cleaning Services: £35,000 per annum

The total expenditure is in the region of £175,000 per annum and over a 10 year term would amount to£1,750,000.

The 10 year term is based on a contract structure of 3+3+2+2 years if all extension options are granted.

Additional information: The selection process will include a pre-qualification stage and the number of service providers selected to proceed to tender will be dependent upon the scores achieved through pre-qualification.

The client will determine an appropriate threshold for selection once pre-qualification scoring has been completed.

Price is not the only award criterion and all criteria are stated only in the procurement documents.

This includes a cleaning schedule and specification.

This also includes an initial set of Key Performance Indicators which will be reviewed and refined with the selected service provider.

Longhurst Group and L&H Homes expect the selected service provider to continually improve both service quality and value for money over the duration of the contract.
