description
The Marine Management Organisation (the MMO) is seeking to procure a Contractor to complete a behavioural analysis (the Analysis) of a representative sample of external stakeholders in marine planning. The Analysis is an integral part of a larger Enhancing Stakeholder Engagement project (the Project)
The MMO is in the process of developing Marine Plans in accordance with the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 with reference to the Marine Policy Statement (MPS) and 'A description of the Marine Planning System for England'
The Project aims to enhance stakeholder engagement in the MMO's development of marine plans. The focus is currently on the development of the plans for the North West, North East, South West and South East inshore and offshore marine areas. These are the ones which are the least progressed. The East Marine Plans are adopted by the Secretary of State while those for the South Marine Plans are with Government awaiting consideration for adoption. However, the Analysis will also include the South and East areas to gain insights that will be relevant to stakeholder engagement for work in the future to review the South and East marine plans (predicted to be in 2020).
