description
The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is the independent regulator of pharmacy professionals and businesses. We are inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified researchers to deliver a major survey of GPhC registrants. There are two groups of registrants, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, and the aim of the survey is to improve our understanding of the registrants' work, training and professional practice. The project will entail a census of pharmacy technicians and a large sample of pharmacists.
Using the GPhC register as a sampling frame, the researchers will
- carry out the survey, both postal as well as online, as a mode of administration,
- process and analyse responses and
- produce a report of the findings.
A questionnaire covering the topics above has been designed and tested, however, we would expect to work with the researchers to adapt the questionnaire for the delivery of the project. The initial questionnaire as well as further details about the project will be provided at the invitation to tender stage.
After the expressions of interest, shortlisted researchers will be invited to submit a full proposal by 16th April, with interviews scheduled for the end of April. We are hoping for the project to start at the end of May.
Expressions of interest are to be submitted either via the mytenders web portal or by e-mail to: research@pharmacyregulation.org.
The expressions of interest are to include the following information about your organisation and should demonstrate the following (maximum 1000 words in total):
- Significant experience of doing large scale surveys
- Relevant expertise - including statistical, survey methodology
- Secure and effective data processing on behalf of another organisation (Systems Level Security policies or the like)
