The DVLA has initiated a Program of Work to develop the capability to deliver a Digital Service Platform (DSP) as a Service to support all facets of the technology delivery life cycle. Development of this capability is
underway and we now want to expand our team of Infrastructure Designers and Engineers to help the UK government build and run great digital services for the people of the UK. Candidates must have strong skills in building and supporting infrastructure services, through the use of Open Source tooling, that will underpin the agency’s business systems. Candidates must be ready to quickly get to work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-skilled team of architects, developers, engineers and analysts.
To advance the business objectives of the DVLA, the individuals brought onboard will, on a day-to-day basis, be responsible for working with the existing team to effect knowledge transfer to the DVLA staff while
developing a set of artifacts including:
Scripts, code and tests to automate the creation and provisioning of suitably hardened and configured virtual server environments in existing cloud providers.
Functional, non-functional, performance, operational and user acceptance test scripts
Documentation and Designs the processes required to establish governance and best practices in the use of the chosen tools and in delivery of the required services
Configure and develop the core platform and application services to enable the reliable delivery of a PaaS within the DVLA.
