description

Thanet District Council has been successful in its Expression of Interest (EoI) to the Future High Streets Fund (FHSF) for Ramsgate Town Centre. The object of the FHSF is to breathe new life into town centres and high streets in ways to help them evolve and adapt to changes in consumer demand and expectations. These changes are to be transformational; and ensure a thriving town centre able to sustain itself, its community and businesses. To progress with the next phase of grant assessment the Council is now required to develop a full business case for capital investment by the FHSF in support of the proposals and strategic ambition outlined in the EoI.

Thanet District Council is now seeking to appoint a Highway Engineer Consultant to provide highway engineering, design work, construction services. To be the Lead Consultant as part of a project team to improve accessibility, pedestrian flow within the town/seafront frontages. The project will require Section 278 Agreement under the Highway Act 1980 and the consultant will lead this process and that of the evaluation of the scheme under WebTAG guidance.
