description

Following the dissolution of the Devon Tourism Partnership (DTP), who had responsibility for the promotion of Devon using the ?Visit Devon? brand, and provided support for the tourism industry, the associated tourism assets are available.

Devon County Council, along with the other members of the DTP wish to make these assets available to an organisation that will continue to deliver the services they provided, for and on behalf of the Devon tourism industry. This includes marketing and promotion of Devon as a visitor destination, and also the roles of destination management, which includes support for and representation of the tourism industry and businesses within Devon (including Plymouth and Torbay).

The assets to be made available for transfer are;

  • A photographic library of approximately 3,127 images (that must be made available for all tourism businesses to use).
  • The Visit Devon Brand ? this is part of the Devon Brand to be used within the guidelines. Changes and updates to this brand can be supported by the DCC communications team.
  • Access to the existing social media accounts.
  • The content of the www.visitdevon.co.uk website (pending copyright agreement with all partners who produced the content), and the contract for CMS licenses and hosting which expires on the 30th August 2016.
  • The content of the www.devontourismadvice.co.uk website, and the agreement for hosting. The hosting fee has been paid for until March 2017 .

The following assets may either be transferred or ?exclusive use? of them will be granted;

www.visitdevon.co.uk www.visitdevon.com www.devontourismadvice.co.uk

In addition there is a consumer database containing approximately 13,000 contacts. Due to Data Protection, this will not be transferred. However, there will be the opportunity for a communication to be sent to all the contacts informing them of the changes and providing them with the opportunity to ?opt-in? to a new database held by the new holder of the assets.

Suppliers who wish to express an interest in this opportunity must do so through Devon County Council's e-tendering portal, www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk. You will need to register on the portal to express your interest. Once you have registered you will be able to locate this opportunity within the 'opportunities' section and click on 'register interest'. Only expressions of interest received before the expression of interest deadline and through the portal will be invited to tender. Expressions of interest must be received through the portal by 12 noon on Tuesday the 31st of May.

It is Devon County Council?s intention to issue Invitations to Tender through the portal shortly after the advertisement period with a two week tender period.

Devon County Council reserve the right not to progress this opportunity to tender or award.
