description

Ehere is a requirement at the University of Nottingham (UoN) within the Gas Turbine & Transmissions Research Centre for a test facility with 2 independent drive shafts to test a variety of aero engine and advance power transmissions based test modules.

The facility design shall be of a modular nature to provide for the maximum flexibility in accommodating current and future test requirements.

The specification (Appendix I), in conjunction with Interface Control Documentation (ICD) defines the requirements of the facility.

Any Contract purchase Order arising from this Invitation shall be subject to Conditions detailed in Appendix II (Draft Agreement) below. No conditions submitted by the Contractor at any time will be deemed to be binding upon the Buyer or accepted in substitution of any of the under noted unless agreed in writing by the Buyer.

Tenderers MUST state their acceptance when tendering of this draft Agreement

The specification includes two optional requirements: depressurised atmosphere chamber (Section 5.5.4) and extreme temperatures at ambient pressure atmosphere chamber (section 5.5.5), which shall be separately listed on the bid.

The rig design is intended to be flexible to not exclude the possibility of upgrading the rig by a minimum effort and cost to accommodate future requirements. The ‘future upgrades’ are defined in section 5.1.3. (High speed upgrade to drive Module B) and in Table 2 (L4, L5, L6, L7 and L8 layout configurations). The supplier should include in the bid explanation of how the enhancements will be catered for. It is desirable if the supplier could assess the cost of the upgrades.

The design, manufacture and commissioning of the elements (as defined by the invitation to tender) of this new test facility is to be performed by an external supplier and Appendix I defines the tasks and conditions. It is to be appended to the purchase Order and consists of 9 Articles.
