Principal Accountant
We are looking for a dynamic, committed and enthusiastic individual to manage the Schools Finance Traded Team and the Resources (Corporate Services) Financial Management Team. The candidate should be a strategic thinker and CIPFA qualified accountant.
Reporting to a Finance Business Partner the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of both teams ensuring the effective delivery of:
- oThe provision of financial information, advice and guidance;
- oThe annual budget setting and business planning processes;
- oThe production of the annual Statement of Accounts and statutory returns.
- oExperience of working in the public sector
- oManaging all elements of the month end process, including journal processing, balance sheet reconciliation, eliminating key variances, delivering compliant accounts and presenting financial results to Executive panels
- oWorking on fully costed financial options, appraisal and models.
- oExcellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building and a successful track history of delivering results quickly, building strong relationships, whilst building a legacy of improvements
Applicants will need to be a member of a chartered accounting body and be able to demonstrate experience in managing staff and experience of operating with senior officers, stakeholders and partnership groups.
Hours - 37 Hours
Start date - as soon as possible
End date - 3 months from start date
Rate of pay - Band I ?25.68
