Supply of TV & Sound Equipment

The University is establishing a significant and bespoke Media Broadcast and Sound Technology facility in an entirely new building of around 5000m2 on its Talbot Campus in Bournemouth to provide industry standard TV & Sound facilities for its Faculties of Media & Communication and Science & Technology.

The requirements of this procurement are to supply the TV & Sound Equipment for the facility as detailed in the specification.

The Poole Gateway Building is a key component of the updated Estates Development Framework (EDF) approved by the University Board in 2014. The Business Case provided the approval to progress the detailed design and construction of a 5000m2 academic building. This new build project is now well under way with practical completion and hand-over due at the end of July 2019.

The development will provide high quality studio, digital and creative academic facilities for the faculties of Media and Communication and Science and Technology and collaborative spaces for all faculties. It will enhance these faculties' specialist academic programmes, research and professional practice by providing varied work spaces that are comparable to the standards encountered in facilities used by industry.

The building will include the following facilities:

• oTV Studios, Sound Stage, Screening Theatre, Motion capture & Green screen studio
• oScene Dock, TV Audio and Visual mixing control rooms, Green room
• oOnline and Offline edits suites, Dubbing and Foley rooms
• oLive recording rooms with interlinking control rooms, Surround Sound,, Stereo and Dead rooms
• oCritical listening spaces, Music labs
• o14 labs for computer animation and games technology
• oCross-faculty collaboration spaces

The Specification in Schedule 3 provides a full brief of services for the requirements. The Specification should be read in detail before Bidders begin to respond to this invitation.
